Bozeman, Montana

I've been at my job for over a month now (!!), so I'm switching to my permanent, non-training schedule of Wednesday-Sunday. Because I HAD been working Monday-Friday, it worked out that I got a four day weekend thanks to the switch. I took advantage of it and went to Bozeman! The beautiful college town is nestled in the Rockies and only two hours from me. It's so charming and very close to skiing/snowboarding. I have a feeling I'll be going back relatively often.

Had to pull over several times to get the perfect shot

My original plan was to go on what is supposed to be one of the most beautiful hikes in Bozeman. It's 11 miles roundtrip and takes you up to Hyalite Canyon. I had my backpack full of camera gear, food, bear spray...I was ready. But, I took a few steps in some deep snow, and my socks got soaked...so, plan B. There was a road that took me up! I was a little hesitant because of the snow and the fact that there was no service driving up, but I had to follow it.

I'm glad I did. This is the Hyalite Reservoir

Mmm. Apple pie!
